It is a nutrient that helps keeping nerve and blood cells healthy, also helps to make DNA and strengthens immune system. It prevents megaloblastic or pernicious anaemia that can lead to weakness, fatigue, numbness of fingers, toes and problems in thinking. As a supplement, the side effect profile for it has not been studied as is done for actual drugs, but some people have reported some nausea, after taking it.
